From 1796 on personal announcements have been published through this early Bremen newspaper, mainly regarding birth and death, occasionally concerning wedding and engagement. In 1960 Käthe Nauss, a former MAUS member, evaluated all ads and columns up to 1811 and added the family names she found to an alphabetical list of nearly 10.000 entries, which is the basis of this searchable database.
